Lesson Plan for Tuesday, May 5th
I missed, “May-the 4th-be-with-you,” yesterday, so let me be the first to say happy, “Cinco de Mayo!” Remember that you have a free homework pass again this week to be used on the assignment of your choice.
Religion: Pray the, “Hail Mary” and read pages 6 through 10 of the “Mary PDF” to your kinder.
Reading: We begin our last Superkids book today, featuring letters X, Y and Z. Begin by listening to the “XY” song on Superkids Online Fun. Next, Follow the directions at the bottom of pages 1, 2 and 3, and complete those pages.
Writing: Finish the “I” story from yesterday if you need to.
Math: Find 3 small containers like plastic cups, empty butter tubs etc. Put an assortment of change in each. (Pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters) Now, have your kinder dump out each container and use tally marks to record how many of each coin was observed on the front of the page labeled, “I can tally the coins.” Repeat for containers 2 and 3. Now, use the information on the front of the page to complete the 3 graphs on the back of the page.
Just for fun: 1. Read with a flashlight today. 2. Do a Math Scavenger hunt: A. Find 2 pencils and 1 blue crayon. How many items do you have now? B. Find 5 blocks and 2 pennies. How many items do you have now? Take away 3 blocks. How many items are left? C. Find 4 socks and 2 stuffed animals. How many items do you have all together? D. Find 8 crackers. Eat 4 of them. How many are left? E. Find 3 spoons, 4 books and 1 orange crayon. How many items do you have all together?
