Mrs. Jones Takes Us the Meet the Frog Keeper
Lesson Plan for Thursday, April 23rd
*We will watch the “Grouchy Ladybug” video to go with our math lesson today.
We are also going on a virtual field trip with Mrs. Jones. She is taking us to the San Diego Zoo where we will meet the frog keeper! If you would like to visit on your own, I added the zoo to our resource page. Thank you, Mrs. Jones!
Religion: Read the “We Believe” statement and the first sentence on page 195. Direct your child’s attention to the picture of the priest baptizing the baby. Explain that at Baptism we begin our new life in God’s family. The priest pours water on the person being baptized. Then read aloud the words of Baptism. Remind your student that water is a sign of life. In Baptism, water is a sign or our new life. Color the waves of water. On page 96 read, “We Respond” and have your kinder write his/her name on the line. Find a picture of your son/daughter being baptized and share it with him/her. Then have your student draw a version of that picture in the space.
Reading: Review the following words with your kinder before reading Act 2 of our play: like likes present twin romp stomp cricket pocket difficult. Now, listen to your son/daughter read pages 10-16. Remember that you or any other available siblings/parents can play a part too!!!
Math: Today we are going to practice writing time to the hour. Have your child write the following times on “The Buggy for Time” recording sheet. (It is on the back of the “Missing Time” sheet you completed yesterday.) Have your student write the times that the Grouchy Ladybug met other creatures as he/she listens to the story.
Writing: Finish the “E” story from yesterday. The EASIEST subject in school is _________________ because ____________________________.
