Lesson Plan for Monday, May 4th
Greetings everyone!! Welcome back to online school! We are staying strong with just a few more days to go!! I am very impressed with how well you have been doing your lessons at home!!! You are like butterflies in the chrysalis stage, and when you come out in 2 weeks, you will have turned into first graders! I am very proud of you and excited for you!!
Religion: May is traditionally known as the month of Mary, so let’s start by praying the, “Hail Mary.” If you are not familiar with this prayer, it is at the back of our religion stapled papers. Now open the PDF at the top of this page and read the first 5 pages about Mary's life to your kinder. We will read the second half tomorrow.
Reading: We are going to have to “Hustle” a little to finish our Superkids by the end of the school year! Have your child open his/her book to page 30 and 31. Have your student read aloud the verse under each picture box, and then cut out and glue the pictures in the correct order. Then follow the directions to complete pages 32 and 33.
Writing: (You can take 2 days to finish this story if needed.) Letter I: A topic that interests me is ___________________________ because ___________________.
Math: Look at the next 2 pages in the math packet. They both have coins in boxes, but you will notice that one page has smaller amounts of money. Choose the page that you think is more appropriate for your son/daughter to work on. Have your child count the money in each box and write the amount somewhere in the box. Next, your kinder can cut on the dotted lines and cut the 12 boxes apart. Now, he/she can put the boxes in order from the least to the greatest amount of money. Most children will need help, so don’t worry about that. We are just introducing the coins. We do not expect mastery.
Just for fun: 1. Grab a muffin tin from the kitchen and build your own Muffin Tin Marble Maze. (See youngschoolartwithmr.g for some pictures.) 2. Check out the web page “Toytheater.com.” It was new to me! 3. Build something out of Legos while you are blindfolded. 4. Curl up in bed with your favorite doll, stuffie, or action figure. Read a book as they listen in.
