Kindergarten Greetings! It is the last day of March, can you believe it????? Let’s enjoy our day!
- Religion: Let’s pray, “The Glory Be,” today. Tomorrow will be the first day of April, and our new prayer will be, “The Our Father.” This is the prayer that Jesus Himself taught His disciples.
- Reading: On a paper or whiteboard have your child write out the following words: fan fat set tent best fast. Now have him/her read each word and write next to each word a rhyming word that begins with the letter, “V.” Example: fat-vat Next, let’s read and practice the following vocabulary words, as they will be in our story today: Put for gull vet vest visit hospital animals present. Finally, listen to your student read the story, “The Pet Hospital,” aloud. It is on pages 17 to 21 in the Superkids workbook. Remember, you don’t have to have your kinder read it all at once, if it is too taxing. Break it up into segments if needed.
- Math: Today we are going to introduce 2 more geometric solids, the cylinder and the cone. Show your child an example of a cylinder, (such as a canned good, trash can, flashlight, etc.) and a cone, ( like a party hat or a funnel.) Have your kinder go on a hunt to find examples of cylinders and cones around the house. For our written assignment today, let’s fold a piece of paper into 4 squares and draw and label a picture of something shaped like a cone in the first box, a cylinder in the second, a sphere in the 3rd, and a cube in the fourth.
